Star TV has appointed Daniel Cheung as chief executive officer, Star Taiwan; while Jason Siu, currently general manager, Star Taiwan, will move to a newly created position in Hong Kong as general manager, chinese movies, Star TV.
Cheung, who has been serving as CEO of Star JV and Indonesian terrestrial channel ANTV, will be tasked with leading Star’s Taiwan business. Cheung has a multitude of experience in Taiwan, holding key positions including COO of China Network Systems. Prior to that, Cheung was responsible for leading the distribution and marketing activities for Star across Greater China as deputy regional director.
Jason Siu will now be overseeing the operations of Chinese movie channels Star Chinese Movies and Star Chinese Movies 2. He will report to Todd Lituchy, president, entertainment, Star TV.
Siu will also work with the recently launched Fox Star Studios joint venture to explore and develop Chinese film production projects for local and worldwide distribution. He has more than 15 years of experience in the movie and television industry and has been with Star since 2001.
