McCann Healthcare World Wide, India has brought in Satish Menon and Sohrab Sopori as General Managers for it Mumbai and Delhi offices, respectively. Both would be reporting to Rana Bawa, Vice President, McCann Healthcare. Meanwhile, Sohan Shah has been elevated as AVP, Strategic Planning. He was earlier General Manager, Mumbai.
Commenting on the new appointments, Bawa said, “We were looking for managers with strong people and business management skills. Satish and Sohrab fit the bill for us as they have been in this domain for around 10 years.”
Shah said, “The appointment of both Menon and Sopari is all important for us, mainly because it is not easy to find passionate and experienced persons in this domain, and in them we have found these qualities. I believe they will bring in a lot of value addition to McCann Healthcare by catering to the communication needs of Indian pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, and help them create bigger brands in the industry.”
He further said, “Secondly, they will also help in expanding our portfolio of Complementary Medical Group (CMG) communication content, through which we aim to cater to not only medical accounts but healthcare communications as well. One such communication will be launched by the end of this month for our client Nicholas Piramal India Ltd.”
Prior to joining McCann Healthcare, both Menon and Sopori had put in nearly 10 years in the pharma and healthcare industry. Menon moves from Sudler & Henessey, while Sopori was with Euro RSCG Life prior to his new appointment.
Commenting on Shah’s new role, Bawa said, “Sohan Shah was till date General Manager of McCann Healthcare Mumbai, wherein he has had good exposure to the McCann way of thinking and has demonstrated the ability to leverage that for our clients in the Mumbai office. By moving him to strategic planning in a national role, we expect him to help us nurture this function, which is already becoming a competitive advantage for us.”
